Unlike Ld Hoffman in the Pinochet case - whose wifey was connnected to Amnesty International. The House of Lords had to hear an appeal on an appeal ( how day do dat then) and recused the Hoff.

Rules for recusal on judges are stricter than for the punters

He's basically gone straight to the supreme court that he loaded with far right nutters to circumvent the ongoing investigations and get him off the hook.

It's a desperate move, but the sad thing is it will probably work considering how broken and partisan the US has become.

I’m no expert in US law, but Trump fought handing over his tax records all the way to the Supreme Court – I’m sure if there were a similar situation in the UK, he would have been refused appeal to a higher court based on the merits of his case.

Trump is in deep do-do; any other US citizen who had done half of what Trump has done would have been jailed a long time ago.

In relation to the 100s of secret documents seized from Ma- a-Largo, there was a report of a woman in Hawaii working for the secret service; apparently she took home a top secret document and notes she had made at a top secret meeting, for which she was jailed for 3 years - while trump had a mountain of secret documents.

Trump recently recruited a new lawyer to his team, paying a $3 Million retainer up front. He also recently launched a laughable lawsuit against CNN for $475 Million, the main basis of his claim being that CNN don’t like him.

If I were advising Trump, I would say it is coming close to the time he needs to identify some dodgy country that does not have an extradition treaty with the US, and live out his remaining days there.

America is strange. The courts, ie Judges, seem to be political. They have Republican judges and Democrat judges and politics seems to be the main consideration when something needs to be decided.

T has appealed to have it accelerated - the hearing
but used in the pleading the word "my possession" which is half the fight over unlawful carriage of documents.

Putting the "100 selected" back into the pool of 10 300 'others' - T thought was a master stroke but isnt.... because....they can now be seen by everyone and previously the 'selected' were private and classified and cd only be seen by a few - - - I think
