fair enough...my mate is out doing some relief work in africa so i guess i found it a little more interesting - wasn't convinced by ralph and rachel being in love tho!!
I liked it very much and thought the performances were excellent; I'm not interested in Oscars etc but have no problem seeing why RW should win an award. Overall I found it quite chilling, very well-made.
No - didn't find it overrated, but then I don't recall seeing/reading any reviews or anyone I know raving about it, so can't judge it against any of that. Also, I don't agree that awareness of a film's subject matter prevents it from being chilling - you imply only the unknown can be chilling.
no i thought it was good but then again i was kind of doing other things whilst watching it so it didn't hold my attention as much as i ahd hoped.....like everything else it seemed more gripping in the trailer......i just didn't think it was oscar worthy and i take your point!!
kev you have been supremely privileged in the exciting film stakes if you thought this was the most boring film ever made. And you clearly haven't seen the Antonioni film The Passenger. Or Picnic At Hanging Rock.
I haven't seen those Backdrifter. Actually I've just thought of a film that for me has to be the most boring ever, it was called "Conversation" starring Gene Hackman, but I still think for me that the Constant Gardner is way up there.
