whose film debut saw him as the man who made a sacred vessel for st. luke?
had one or two suggestions but can,t link them with the actor,can anyone help

Sure it's a male actor? St Luke's gospel refers to the Virgin Mary as 'the new Ark of the Covenant' (a sacred vessel if ever there was one). Sinead O'Connor played the Virgin in The Butcher Boy, her first film appearance apart from as a performer on soundtracks.

Actually, I see tthis was asked last week in Quizzes & Puzzles, and CCBaxter suggested Paul Newman in The Silver Chalice, which looks more likely than my suggestion.
