Social worker. They don't have the powers people think they have, are either interfering, do-goodie busybodies or straight out of uni know-nowts.
Very tough job.
Someone I used to work with in Oncology now works in Child Safeguarding. Her job is split into two parts, one part being child mortality. There's been a relatively high number of teenage suicides recently she was telling me the other week.

Many, many years ago we were shown round a factory making TVs and someone asked a woman on the production line Do you find it boring just fitting that part all day? Her reply was I'd find it much more boring doing what you're doing, just watching me!
