Bluetooth On Mobiles

Hi I am getting a new mobile phone that has bluetooth on it
can someone tell me a little about bluetooth and what it does
my son tells me people can send you things to it but I don't have a clue

Basically if both you and someone else in the room has their bluetooth switched on their mobiles, you can send pictures, videos and sounds to each other. You can set your phone so that it's always on (but I believe that runs the battery down) or just turn it on when you need it. You are usually asked when someone wants to send you something and tell the other person a numeric passcode so that you've both entered the same one, then you can get sending! Sorry if you're even more confused now, when I first got a phone with bluetooth I was clueless, you really need someone to show you. Hope those links help. :)

You just sound like me Whitehouse. I had a new Motorola Peble delivered yesterday and have been lookink at instructions all morning and still haven't fathomed out how to send a message.

you can also buy a bluetooth dongle which you fit to your usb port. this allows you to send files from pc to phone and vice versa. handy if you have taken a photo with your phone camera and also for sending ringtones to your phone from your pc music files. you can get them in argos for �10.

I used a dongle, and although I loaded the phone's software, and the computer recognised the phone I cannot find the files it has downloaded off my phone. Sorry to butt in to this thread but I thought someone will have some ideas.

Whitehouse,i will just point something out to you about bluetooth.The bluetooth on your new phone wont work with every other phone that has bluetooth.There is a compatilibty issue with certain phones
