A kindle Daily deal book by Professor Roy Taylor of Newcastle University. He has done many years of research into the causes of diabetes, including the value of calorie and carb restriction as a means to reverse diabetes. This explains the science behind the why and how of diabetes in simple easy to understand terms.
All proceeds go to diabetes charities as I understand it.

I will have a read and hopefully, there will be some help and hints.
I'm just up and not very awake. ☺

Thanks
did he find out the cause of diabetes?
pasta, thank you, the Newcastle Team have contributed much to our understand of Type 2 diabetes and the attempted reversal by eating less than 1,000 calories per day with a liquid diet.
I couldn't do it nor would I try.

The theoretical approach to the management and the practical management of this condition are quite different in my opinion.

Most diabetics just don't want to know or can't understand the basics but others seem to be completely au fait with the disorder equal to any diabetic nurse or GP .

I find your contribution a thoughtful addition to AB
Yes; good girl :(
I don't need to read about it as there are so many helpful online sites to read - it is doing something about it, but after 3 or 4 weeks for me - I'm doing ok re the carb reduction and have lost a few pounds.
I was told to eat much less carbs but I became very depressed. My psychiatrist told me to eat more carbs.

I find it confusing, I find most things confusing. I'm going for a sleep, best bit of the day.

I couldn't do it either sqad...and there's enough evidence that a very low carb approach is equally helpful.
I know that if I was told I had, or could develop diabetes...I'd do everything I could to manage the condition, and hopefully avoid medication. But plenty of people can't/won't.

Wolf...carbs just made me feel depressed and foggy headed.
I eat a low calorie diet to manage my diet but do eat carbs - no low enough to qualify as a 'low carb diet' but I do restrict the amount of carbs I eat.
I reversed my T2D that way and could not have managed a liquid diet. My diet is one that I can eat for the rest of my life, is all 'normal' food and fits in with the family and eating out.
We are all different and I'm sure Professor Taylor's methods are perfect for many.
'to manage my diabetes' I meant.
I have been type 2 Diabetic for 28 years. Started on diet, then tablets and now tablets and Insulin. I am generally ok. Watch what I eat and just get on with it. After all these years I do have slight eye problems but I attend a Diabetic eye screening clinic run by the NHS.
I will just add that my Father was Diabetic and so is my son. Hereditary?
