Good Night Out Tonight.
13 Answers
It's my daughters 60th birthday tomorrow, they are all going to the Eden project tomorrow as well as other secret things.
We went to the Pig and Apple which is a restaurant on Kate Humbles farm.
We hadn't got a clue what to expect but the menu seemed good.
Quite a bit of a journey down lots of back lanes near Monmouth.
When we got there, lots of cars parked up. Quite a trek through farm land until we found the restaurant. It was full, only our table empty.
Menu was very good but all burger based. I had a chicken breast one but left the bun. 5 different types of chips. So many we had three takeaway boxes of them. I kept xpecting Kate Humble to appear but apparently it's just a company who rent the the place on her property.
It was a great night and we all (5 grandchildren, daughter, husband, OH and me) thoroughly enjoyed it.

Er, how does that work exactly then? We all know that you're only 39, so how can your daughter possibly be 60?
I'm not a great lover of burgers (even posh ones), so it wouldn't be my choice of a place to eat

but I'm pleased that you and your family all enjoyed it anyway.
(I also note that their special 'Oktoberfest' beer is one that people, like me, who're on blood pressure medication can't drink because it contains grapefruit juice. That would definitely put me off the place!).
The prices look good though. They're roughly half what one pays at Jimmy's Farm (from the TV series of the same name), which is not far from me.

>>> I didn't know about the blood pressure problem with grapefruit juice
It's not high blood pressure, per se, that's the problem but the interaction between the medication (amlodipine) that's usually given for it and grapefruit juice. Grapefruit greatly magnifies the effect of the drug, meaning that one effectively ends up with an overdose of the stuff.
>>> Don't know about prices
They're in my link above. They're actually far cheaper than most pubs charge for posh burger around here!
