11. Which King of England, according to the official royal family text book on the subject, is said to have "preferred the Queen's brother to the Queen"?

I haven't identified the aforementioned text book, I've found 6 'candidates' of that persuasion, but I'm nowhere near being confident enough to make a choice.
There's a Christmas Hamper at stake here.

Cashier : In no particular order I've identified as 'candidates' : Edward II, William II, Richard I, Richard II, James I, William III.
Same names as I got hard to tell who is the answer. What I read on google didn't help decide.
it's Edward I, okay?

It's in the history of the monarchy that you can buy at palace souvenir shops

JNO : can you be more specific as to which book you are referring to?
My natural scepticism is that I can find no suggestion of Edward I, especially given his devotion to Eleanor of Castile, doesn't tie in with the suggestion he preferred someone to her?
Whereas Edward II . . .
It was the one who was killed by a red hot poker up his bum, I can't recall which one that was.
Found it - Edward the Second.
I can't remember the name of the book, but googling confirms what I recall of the content
