1. It's Friday. That's enough bliss for me.

2. I don't have to cook dinner....

...recently, I tasked son (23) with making dinner once a week. He has to choose what to make and write what he needs on the shopping list.

Last week he made spinach and mushroom creamy pasta. It was divine, and dare I say it, better than mine. No mess at all either.

Tonight he's making a fajita flavoured rice concoction, like a pilaf but with peppers, onions, chicken and fajita seasoning. I'm watching him chop the veg with perfect precision. Still no mess.

This is from a kid that thought he was cooking if he made himself beans on toast.

Should have suggested this years ago.

Sounds lovely Rocky ,now that’s bliss
He may be discovering a new vocation...or hobby. Enjoy it while it lasts:)
We have four sons and one daughter and when they were young we used to let them take turns to make the tea on Sundays.. Provided we had the ingredients in they could make whatever they chose to.
Children surprise us sometimes..Well done him and you for suggesting this :-)

I'm quite chuffed to be honest and so glad that he is actually enjoying himself and finding something that he might be good at.

Might not be so good for my waistline though
My son is back from Uni for the weekend. He's making dad and me flat iron steak with cheesy stuffed jacket potatoes and baby leaf salad. Then he's going down the club with dad while I catch up with The Handmaid's Tale. That is bliss x
Grand daughter 14 is a dab hand in the kitchen and cooks for her mum and brother most nights. When she is with her trainer she cooks for him and his partner and once for his very Portugeuse parents!

Sounds lovely Meaghan. When my daughter comes back from uni she does all the cooking. I love it.

It's so nice to come home after a crappy day at work and get fed.

Still no mess
Ha ha rocky, that really made me smile :)
Our children can really surprise us at times (good and bad) can’t they?
My bliss is having had a nice ordinary day, very companionable, no stress, got dog booked in with dog minder for a few overnights in the next few weeks so we can do things (meeting up with friends for pre Christmas meals and drinks)without worrying about him.
And a long chat over FaceTime with our three year old grandson about satellites and tunnel digging machines.

That's lovely Vagus. I'm not blessed with grandchildren just yet...I can wait a few more years, but technology is a blessing to be sure.

Enjoy meeting your friends. If the last year is anything to go by, we need to do stuff now, and not wait.
My bliss, Rocky was a couple of pints with friends at 16.18 in the Holy Well. Lots of craic and laughter.
As for cooking....my son can do okay but the daughter is a fantastic cook and baker. I tell her she gets that from her Mum but she just rolls her eyes.
She's arriving tomorrow from the UK with her cakes and pickles and lots of other treats....but sadly no pork pies since bloody Brexit. :-(
