dishwasher wont turn on?

I have just gone to turn on the dishwasher and when i opened it noticed there was a little bit of water at the bottom which isnt usually like that.I went to turn the program on and there was no power at all.i undid the filter which was clean and checked the electric and plug.Anyone any suggestions cant face a sink load of pots again!!!

Don't know how old your dishwasher is but possibly the pump has packed up?

i have just emptied all the water out of the bottom and when i pulled the round filter thing out there was still water in it so i think your right,its obviously not going the way it should be!My boyfs friends a plumber im sure he will sort it,thanks for your help!

Or the waste outlet might be blocked. We had to get ours unblocked once. Where the waste pipe met the sink/washing machine outlet, the pipe wasn't angled correctly, and so bits of food, gunk etc (yuh!) had collected and prevented it emptying correctly. Just a thought!
Good luck - I couldn't face going back to the fairy liquid either! : )

You will never guess,the fuse had gone!!!my boyf and his friend had all the dishwasher pulled out checking the pipes and waste and it was just a fuse!!!!!i never have to wash up again!!!
