I'm struggling hearing the tv, I have hearing aids but still need it too loud being mindful of neighbours in a flat ...I've tried wireless ear phones but my lovely niece who usually deals with these things struggled to set them up
Even if they had worked they were only suitable for sitting up. I like to lay on my settee and watch a film maybe or watch tv in bed. Unable to do that with bigger earphones.
Would the smaller bluetooth buds work with a tv, please.

As long as your TV has Bluetooth, there's no reason why any wireless earbuds wouldn't work, you just need to pair them both.
I tried some that just fit in your ear, but they kept falling out, so I've now got these - they hook over the ear and never come out:
