Daughters Wedding

My daughter gets married on Saturday. I am so excited. But as they have had their house for over two years and been together for nearly 8 years they do not want any presents. They have told guests that they want their company not their gifts. Some people have taken offence at this and a couple have said that they are going to get them a present whether they like it or not. Some people eh??

If sounds as if your daughter and her husband to be are being both honest about their needs, and considerate of their guests ability to spend money in these times. Of course, no one is preventing those invited to give a gift, but at least there isn't the usual pressure to give.

Why not suggest that they give to charity - they could buy a donkey etc. for somebody.

When we got married, we stated that we wanted our guests 'presence' rather than their 'presents'.
However, we received some very thoughtful gifts although we truly wouldn't have minded if there was nothing. :o)
