That may be so. But they are also bound by the sentencing guidelines which make specific recommendations regarding when it is appropriate to suspend a custodial sentence. I am fairly sure the judge would have taken those guidelines into account when sentencing.

Driving licence should also be removed for life. Still, now his picture is out for all to see it may well be that he himself will be requiring the services of an ambulance. I would strongly suggest he doesnt use any pub bogs for some time to come.

Hopefully as he has received a custodial sentence (albeit suspended) he will no long have work and will therefore never be able to buy another car.
