Some expensive DVD players now offer an upscaling facility to send a pseudo high definition digital signal to HD TVs. Before I fork out for one of these - I have a large DVD collection - does anyone know if the forthcoming DVD-HD and Blu-Ray DVD true hi-def players will also offer an upscaling facility?

They won't need an HD upscaler as they will already be in HD.....
But will they upscale non-HD DVDs?
Aha, sorry, misunderstood the question.

According to Tosh, there's will :

OBonio: Sorry but you seem to have missed the point.

Hammer: Quite. That is my question.

Perhaps I should have worded my question a little differently.
I simply want to know if the HD DVD players will ALSO play standard DVDs and upscale them. If they will, there is no need to spend 1000 plus (or whatever) on a standard DVD player with upscaling which will become outdated within months.

Thanks, OBonio! Much appreciated.
