Hi, I am a UK citezan and have a 9 year old passport, so normally I would be able to travel to America without a Visa.

I don't have a criminal record, but I am ashamed to say that when I was a bit younger I got arrested for breach of the peace (8 years ago) and smoking dope (5 years ago) although I was never charged.
Do I have to now apply for a visa to the US? Does anyone else have a similar experiance?

According to the letter of US law, yes, you need a visa. In their eyes you have a criminal record and always will.

However many posters here seem to say you can get away without declaring your arrests as the US authorities have no way of knowing about them.
