when Gazza sued and lost for privacy the Judge commented ( inter alia) - Gazza, gazza ladra! - that is the name of an opera - the Silken Ladder

altho counsel is reputed to have said - "indeed there may be M'lud" - there wasnt - Gazza Ladra is the Thieving Magpie, and the Silken Ladder is La scala di sete

Hopkirk, many years ago my now late aunt drove all the way from Hereford to Wrexham with her Handbag on top of the car. How she never lost it was a miracle. :-)

I once saw someone drive away with a new tube of toothpaste on the roof.

It fell off, and a car ran over it perfectly. A jet of toothpaste probably 20 yards long shot out down the road.
