I am somewhat confused. My latest bill credits my account with £66 from the Energy Support Scheme but Ovo has paid that £66 into my bank account.
Anyone got similar?
How do you view your bill(s)? On the first page of mine (PDF download) under 'Summary of charges' it shows 'Energy Bill Support Scheme -£66.00' and under 'Your balance' it shows 'Refunds 15th November £66.00 out'.

The reason it's done that way is because, if your energy supplier has done their sums right, the amount that you're paying by direct debit should, in itself, already be sufficient to cover the costs of the energy that you use. There's thus no need for them to hang onto the £66/£67 payments, so they're then refunded back to your bank account.
Interest? Maybe I'm with the wrong supplier! I also like to build up a healthy credit balance but that's just to
(a) know that I won't need to worry about turning the heating up if it gets really cold (or if I fall ill) ; and
(b) so that I can hopefully look forward to a nice refund later on ;-)
[When I checked my electricity bill balance with British Gas a week or two ago, I was £1192 in credit but I'm still economising on energy usage like mad!].
My supplier takes the direct debit out of my account on the 1st of each month as usual, then when they receive the £66 from the government, they pay the DD back into my bank account.
