Gosh Chris, hadnt come across that, thank you so much.
It’s other half who is suffering at the moment, I’ve just told him to join that forum to see if someone can offer advice.
Thanks again, you’re wonderful x
Thanks ubasses, I’ve been browsing gloves and glove liners so that’s very helpful.
I guess you have raynaulds? Other half has never been diagnosed but we’re both pretty sure that’s what it is, he has a GP appointment next week but it looks like it’s just a case of managing it. He doesn’t have any other symptoms so it’ll be primary not secondary I imagine.
His feet are giving him a lot of real discomfort in the night, waking him up, do you have any suggestions (he wears two pairs of socks in bed, has an electric blanket, and always has a couple of extra layers on top over his feet)?
I had this for years but don't seem to suffer any more. Just saying. At home I just used to fill the sink with warm water and bathe my hands for a while.
Strangely, I do not seem to get it in my toes, just my fingers but the pain is excrutiating in the cold weather. I also have a pair of mountain grade mittens to wear when we go walkinging in winter, these go over the top of the silver gloves, a pair of silk liners, and a pair of cotton gloves.
Is your husband on any medication?, there are some which can make it worse, his GP might prescribe something but I was advised against due to low blood pressure.
Oven gloves when handling frozen food.
Fingerless gloves really helps, funnily enough. The fingerless gloves that can be converted in to full gloves are good, this sort of thing Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation
Keep out of draughts, even warm air can trigger it such as car heaters and air con.
Wear gloves when holding cold drinks, or use an insulated beaker.
The doctor can prescribe drugs to improve circulation to the extremities, they help a lot of people but not everyone.
You have my (and his) sympathy ubasses, he’s in such a lot of pain this year, worse than ever before.
No, he’s not seen a doctor as yet, an appointment next week. I doubt GP would prescribe blood pressure meds because like you, his blood pressure is always on the low side of normal.
He’s currently browsing those links that you and Chris gave me, both for advice and clothing.
Many thanks again x
