We were walking to school around 8am and I slipped on an area of sheet ice and landed on my leg and ankle. If it wasn't for little Tigs helping me up I would've struggled to get up. Foot is now starting to hurt.

Anyone else had any incidents out in the snow/ice recently?

Nothing like that but went out to my trusty vehicle this morning after it sitting idle since Saturday and had to enter by the passenger door and shoulder charge the driver side from the inside to open it
Took forever to scrape the man-size windscreen, front and rear lights and mirrors. Half an hour I'll never get back.
Arrived at the pickup point and the rear and side doors were frozen shut so had to run the fridge at +15c which eventually helped then the side door wouldn't latch.

Other than that and frozen washers on and off, no probs. :-)
Lethal stuff!
You probably sprained the ankle. I hope it's nothing too serious.
Poor you. Did anyone see you fall?...
no, last winter. It took the NHS until last month to decide there was nothing they could do about it and discharge me. It still twinges, though.

We walked past a car still snow covered but with the engine running on the way to school. It was still there on my way back 15 minutes later. It was still mostly covered in snow with dribbles here and there. Don't know why they didn't just scrape the snow off with a scraper thing.

I'm not keen on snow when I have to go out in it but I'd much rather snow than ice.
the trouble with snow is it basically becomes ice when you step on it and compress it. I've been trying to sweep it out of my driveway without standing in it. Sounds like a recipe for falling over in it (again).

Sorry to hear that, Jno. So many injuries occur during icy conditions.
