Not for me there isn't. Went to bed at 11.45pm and just got up again as fed up of tossing and turning trying to sleep. I've taken two Melatonin tablets and am waiting for those to work before going back and trying again.
I hope you get to sleep soon and don't feel too bad for the rest of the day. I don't have to be up until 9.30am and can have a sleep this afternoon, or try to.
i have had insomnia for three days
and now I can hardly keep my eyes open - ter daaah
Melatonin see above - is used and is safe, and works ( a bit) - OK for some ( about a third)
Valerian tea has some sort of mild hypnotic
Very difficult for me: I only get it once or twice a month and come down here to see who is tap tapping away...( go back to bed and wake up feeling drugged)
If you can get hold of a recording of ex-footballer Lee Hendrie doing the co-commentary on a football match, i'll tell you what, it just might cure your insomnia.
On a more serious note, having been insomniac from my early teens, the only way i can nod off is to read until i can no longer keep my eyes open. Not guaranteeing how many hours of decent sleep you'll get but, for me, it works most nights
Have you tried this?

It is something we have to live with. I lie in bed with the radio on softly, it concentrates the mind on the programmes and is relaxing, i then wake up in the morning. The radio is left on overnight but it is not a problem.
