Images from the 70s, some of which bring back memories of my childhood. Some great, some funny and amusing and a couple of sad ones too.

I didn't know a peanut butter maker you could buy even existed! ;o)

We love looking at old street scenes, especially showing shops long gone, parks with play equipment that wouldn't be allowed now and kiddies playing on the beach whilst grandad snoozes in a deckchair with a knotted hankie on his head. Brings back so many memories but I think that my grandchildren won't have those sort of photos to look at.
So many people get antsy about strangers taking photos of their kids these days, I'd think twice before taking such innocent photos
Just look at the prices of tickets for the tube!
Lol. that brought back some memories. Particularly the Heathrow clip. I remember going on a school trip to watch the aeroplanes take off and land, and we stood on that platform. What a waste of an educational day. I took a thermos flask full of tea and it broke. It was full of glass as the end of the day.

There is so much more awareness now, Barry. A lot of things were brushed under the carpet in those days. I think the tide started gradually turning when Esther Rantzen founded childline.

We used to go on day trips to Gatwick in our Ford Cortina!
I've half a mind to post my graduation photo: long hennaed hair and a (borrowed) 70s suit :)

Post if you want, GG :o)
I understand why some people feel like that, Tigger, but I still regret that there may be much less photos os society and social history in the future, just billions of heavily filtered selfies taken by the self-absorbed
No such thing these days as being shown an actual photograph. You have to sit patiently until hundreds of pics on a phone are sifted through until the actual one is found. I find it boring ,much prefer to hold a photograph in my hand. I have ones of my ancestors going back years.
A strange collection, quite London oriented, and with loads of gadgets one either never saw or if aware of, never owned. I'm unsure it gives that close an impression of the 70's.
Very London-centric, and could do with some more captioning as there were quite a few I didn't understand (and I was in my 30s in the 70s).

But others certainly rang a bell. For example I remember gathering at friends' places round a Fondue set.
