Would it be a good idea to put something like the top 10 most recently psoted questions and answers visible on the screen so people can find what they want without posting repeated questions asking for the same answers like the M&S ad, vodafone ads etc...?

Folk can already use the "Search the site" box, similar questions and answers appear when the questioner clicks on "submit" and there's the "most recently answered" option.

Jenna, cracking idea. Perhaps if there's a top 10 list when a category is opened it might, might just cut down on the repeated questions. I wonder if alot of folks see the 'has it already been asked/submitted?' bit and think "bu88er it, i've typed it now, it's goin in..........." ???

<still spiting out broken teeth> sooooooooooo when the question being asked is number 11 in the popularity stakes it will still get asked and you'll have questions going in and out of the Top Ten all the time. Sorry but (ducks behind Brenda The Elephant) not a good idea.

If the search facility worked better then some of these problems might not happen. I have been using it this morning and for some reason, part of the "have your say" appears in every answer! Also, there were 130 odd answers which were in no particular order and some had no relevance at all to my search keywords. No wonder some people give up on it. I only slogged through it because I knew this question had been answered in the last week or so.
BOO, I think you were a bit rough on poor TCL, think of the dentist bill.

Oh dear, what have I started ;)

We need something, i know there's stuff there already but people obviously aren't using it as there as still all the repeated posts.

Perhaps it's like B00 says, they've typed it (even 1 line), and also getting their name up (in lights)LOL...

In this last 5 days, I have seen the Q "What does IC 1 male mean in The Bill etc" (or similiar), 3 times...

TCL is correct, there is no way it does not show up on similiar Q's asked when they submit...they obviously want to receive answers -(never mind they are no different to the ones before, just diff peeps answering them)...

n00dles runs away, as she does not want the same treatment as metered out on poor TCL
