Good morning, Campers. Back to work for many of us today. If only the working week went by as quickly as the Christmas break. At least it's only 3 days back followed by another 3 days off.

I hope you are all well and looking forward to the New Year.

Does anyone have any special NYE plans or celebrations?

aww you were in a bad place back in the day... and just needed a wee kind word or two... we've all been there at some time..so pleased to see you have moved along that road xx
morning Barry xx
Nah. When my step-dad died my mum moved to the Orkney island (pretty much as far as you can get and still be in the UK). She took all the rescues with her and I'd already moved on before that, which is good because otherwise I would have gone with her. Being stuck on an island (Stronsay) with absolutely nothing to do, that would have not been good for my alcoholism.

My OH wants a therapy ferret. I just don't think we can look after an animal at the moment. As soon as we can get her proper care in place, I will be looking for one. At which point I'll be wanting plenty of advice!

Morning, Barry. I don't blame you, if it's not your sort of thing.

I've just realised we are going to in-laws for dinner on Friday night and they're coming to stay with us the following night. Oh well, I don't think I'll bother with dinner tonight or tomorrow if I'm having two successive evenings of dining with others. I brought some leftover stir fry from last night to work with me so that will do me for today.

Anybody else going to have something nice or a few wee drinkies on NYE?
Orkney can be a bleak place so you did well to avoid that...afraid I know nowt about ferrets..except don't put them doo yer trews ! lol x

Oh Diz, I'm so glad you've emerged from that black hole you were in all those years ago. I really wish nothing but happiness for you going forward.
A friend at college used to have a ferret, I don't know if it was a therapy ferret or if there's a difference between a ferret and a therapy ferret (probably not). She used to bring her (I think she was a she ferret) in to college and on occasion she'd run up leg and fall asleep in my hoody (it had the front pocket that you can put both arms in, like a tube) during lectures lol. I think I spent most of those lectures fluffling her ears, the ferret, not my friend xx
Cheers LadyCG, it was a very black hole too. One that I wouldn't have got through and out the other side without the support from 3 people specifically on AB, Minty being one of them. I'm glad I can express how appreciative I am to her for that :)
sounds cute..with teeth ! lol

My granddad had a ferret years ago which he took out hunting. He let her breed with a male ferret and she had two babies. He then made fatal mistake of bleaching out her cage and she ended up eating her two young. :-(
Diz "do unto others" .. it costs nothing but time, an ear and a bit of empathy to make a difference to others when in times of need... and you are more than welcome..so pleased that you came through the other side xx
I can think of a few sprogs that I would rather have been eaten at birth ! lol

You and me both, Minty. ;)
