Pele was chopped to pieces in the game against Portugal in 1966. I think it was at Goodison Park. That fixture is the international equivalent of Celtic v Rangers, Utd v City etc. However, Pele was without doubt the best striker in the history of the game. He had a phenominal record of goal scoring. But he wasn't the greatest player. That accolade belongs to George Best. Best had it all. He could defend, tackle, dribble, beat a man, head the ball, pass the ball. Unfortunately for him, his international colleagues weren't good enough to get him to a World Cup. So, RIP Pele. The death of a legend.
