One of the features of NYD where I live is that I can hear all the ships in Portsmouth Harbour (Commercial and warships) sounding their hooters at midnight: But tonight, not a sound.

Quite a strong wind blowing but it was in the right direction so couldn't be that.

Very disappointing - maybe some killjoy has protested and got it banned.
