Illegal immigrants crossed the channel in 2022.
Johnson, Truss and Sunak Governments were at best impotent, and at worst incompetent to do anything about it.
We must demand better in 2023. Action, not passing the buck.

Well Gromit, the Government is having problems due to you and your ilk.
Granted the Government should have forced through a change to the HRA and left the ECHR but you would think they wouldnt have to. But whilst the likes of Ms Blair can get their hands on tons of tax payers money for 'defending' them there is no choice.
So a couple of things they need to do NOW.
1) As suggested above change the benefits system.
2) No Hotels and no benefits. They are illegal so build a prison.
3) No UK tax payer funded legal aid.
4) Get out the ECHR
5) Re write the HRA. Use the Parliament Act if necessary.
6) Push forward with schemes like Rwanda and more agreements with Albania(certainly no excuse at all for them coming here).
And it's not just Tories that have an issue with this. Labour heartlands are were many of the dross are being dumped, there are many 'true' labour voters that are sick of it. Sir Kier had better start thinking of workable ideas if he wants a shot at power.

Someone has mentioned a possible solution to reducing the numbers. Be less welcoming. Glare silently at those arriving. Insist that they speak English, give lessons and remove interpreters. House in 'barracks' with adequate canteen meals - no giving way to food preferences or demands for halal foodstuffs (the Koran permits non-halal if halal is not available). Earn their food by working at something - I don't know what, something to ease poverty amongst the indigenous inhabitants.
