High Blood Pressure Query

I have been instructed by my GP to take my blood pressure readings daily and send them to her. I started recording them only within the last few weeks.

When I started taking them the measurements were around 147/92. Though higher than it should be it was an improvement on my previous readings. (Ramipril had been reduced from 10mg to 5mg but has been increased back to 10mg).

However, today was extra stressful and I am totally exhausted. When I took the reading tonight I expected it to be higher but the readings were 129/82 and then 116/74 half an hour later.

This is the lowest that I can remember my BP ever being, why would the readings be so low? I am not worried but I am curious as to why this should be.

The best way to reduce BP is to drink alcohol. My BP is always much lower after a well-watered evening meal. Morning BP is usually higher.
I don't know why it should vary so much. I can have horribly high BP (when waiting for cataract op. for instance & they say tell GP) mostly high/normal (135/80 - ish) or, recently it has sometimes been alarmingly low when I had the 'flu. Honestly it was repeatedly around 89/57-ish etc. I'm tired, but just over this horrible bug and it is now steadily somewhere around 116/68-ish when I check it. Baffled.
My bro-in-law has had same bug. He also has a pacemaker and he collapsed in the kitchen just before Xmas - his BP had dropped too low...... not usually one of his problems.
jourdain; have you noticed a correlation between BP and alcohol consumption?
Atheist - I would normally agree with you about evening readings (after wine) being lower, so yes, I think there is a correlation - but I wasn't drinking for about a week, of course, when I was really poorly in Dec., so am at a loss regarding that except for blaming the bug.
Alcohol sends my blood pressure through the roof, and it's high enough already as it is!
Star Trek is not realistic.
