Well if you think that Beetroot juice will lower your BP then i can see no reason why it cannot be taken with statins.

Don't have high BP squad just cholesterol but have read that beet juice is good for lots of things and wondered if Beet Juice will counteract statin tablets.
I thought that grapefruit juice was the only thing you needed to avoid.
Tilly...yes, that is what the "medics" tell us.

Me?.......if i couldn't do without grapefruit juice for breakfast, i would just take my statin at night.

No big deal.
Isn't porridge supposed to be good for reducing cholesterol??

So is beet juice ok ?
smurfchops, I would say so. it's beet juice and not in concentrated form so it can't do you any harm. I've read that it lowers blood pressure but never heard anything about cholesterol.
I'm doing lots of things to try and lower my blood pressure without medication and I know I don't need to worry about it getting too low.....
at my next appointment doc is changing my statins to one that allows you grapefruit
mallyh..........just a warning.........if your are side effect free, then why change your present statins for the sake of drinking grapefruit juice.
It would be annoying if the "new" statins gave you unacceptable side effects.
sqad ive only been on them a month so when my next prescription is due im going to try the other ones .

I'm not taking beet juice as a substitute for statins just for general health
