how can i garantee to get hold seats on a flight?
as a tall person who is also disabled i find air travel a complete pain (take that very literally) and whenever i book a holiday i always state when i get asked about special requirements that i need a hold seat due to the aformentioned and im always told no problem - yay...
however when it comes to boarding the plain or checking in online (great job virgin love the time saving) well it never happens, the hold seats are always gone and before you know it im stuck on a 9 hhour flight doped up to the hills on pain relief and in tears due to the agony.
there must be a way to guarantee these seats, anyone know how?
many thanks

i am able bodied but due to an issue with my back and leg i am also not easily able bodied if that makes sense. i see other people like myself in these seats and i have spoken to airlines who insist they are the best seats for me, its just they are never actually reserved when promised.
i cant afford the 3k to upgrade

the bit about being able-bodied relates to whether you'd be able to leap up and open the doors in an emergency - could you?
That said, no, I don't know of any way of reserving such seats; everyone wants them. You could go through the possibilities on your chosen airline on this site:

When you book your holiday and and make any special requests or requirements you should be advised that these are, indeed " Requests". These cannot be guaranteed by the the booking agent as they are at the mercy of their suppliers, in this case the airlines. Most airlines do not assign seats in economy class until check in, which some airlines now offer online 24 hours prior to departure.
