Just wanted to read some reviews and leave some reviews on Traders
So just been on "trust a trader" and rated people.com, I dont think these have been online for long enough as on Trust a trader I cannot find either of the tradesmen I wanted to read about (only 2 gas engineers in the area - neither of which are the ones I was wanting to read about).
When I went on rated people .com I find that the website wants to know everything about me and the job to be tackled and will then get 3 traders to get in touch with me. This is not how I understood this website to work. I want to read reviews of tradespeople who are wanting to do jobs!
Is it me or am I missing something here!!!!
Many thanks in advance for your help.

Unlike, say, TripAdvisor (where anyone can add a hotel to the review listings), Trustatrader.com requires traders to sign up to the website. The process requires a minimum of 5 references, together with copies of insurance documents and trading terms. More importantly though, traders on the website have to pay a fee of around £500 per year for membership. It seems likely that the traders you were seeking have decided that membership is not a worthwhile investment for them.
Traders using Ratedpeople.com pay a lower membership fee (£15 + VAT per month) but they then have to pay for every lead sent to them. The cost for each lead varies depending upon the size of the job but it averages around £15 (+ VAT) per time. So Ratedpeople.com seeks lots of information from you in order to make about £45 out of forwarding it to three traders.

I am like you. I visited rated people hoping to find traders that had been used by joe public and rated accordingly. No chance, they wanted to know about the job and then I would be contacted by a tradesman that would be willing to look at the job. Not what I wanted, I need to find a decent tradesman for some building work but I am unable to find anyone that I feel I could have confidence in. There is a need for local people to find local tradesmen that have been used and that the customer is happy with. This internet malarky is missing a point here!
