Hi, I have an old farmhouse in France, and am trying to find when it was built etc...
I have only found the name of an artist who sketched it, and a family who lived here, but can't find the dates. French geneaology sites don't seem to have much info.
Thanks for any help.

Sorry to inform you But its virtually impossible to track any information beyond WWII as the germans destroyed many files when they retreated from France and Belguim.
Have you asked at the Mairie?
Question Author
Hi, Yes, the Mairie put me onto a woman who works at our medieval tower in the village. She has just given me a sheet of paper with a little info.(it took her a year to do it!)
It's the names of families that lived here around 1580, but as it's a part of the farm complex, divided into different houses, she doesn't know if mine was built later. the paper is from the archives department and says it was a stronghold with noble families.
As I run a B&B here, it would have been nice to advertise the year.....eg: 16th century farmhouse.
Thanks for all replies.
