How easy is it to find a job in USA if your English?

I want to work in USA as my boyfriend lives there, but i dont know how to search or where to search out jobs that support work permits for foreigners. I know u cant just get a work permit like that..... any idea's?

tdowsett : I hope you don't mind my (lengthy )reply..I'm a nurse,and applied for my (Welsh)post on-line; I had a telephone interview(I had never heard of such),and they secured my work permit. Mind you,it took a few weeks to receive. I was quite(as you'd say) 'chuffed' that I had secured a job, and actually lived a dream come true!! I say go for it! check on line for job listings in the field/s you feel qualified for,and apply. Don't be put off by any negative reactions you may /may not get. Our daughter married a Brit(a Welshman to be specific- he's the BEST); he came over here; they married here, he got a job,car-the lot -and enjoyed himself. They're back in Wales, and she loves it there :) Nevermind. The worst that can happen if you get over here and don't like it, is go back. But at LEAST you pursued YOUR dream-that's what counts! It is extremely difficult to get a work permit for the US. Have a look at this web page

Ok - i think being a nurse would give you heads start as they would say you could be needed in the U.S. Whereas my line of jobs would be Admin/Office work, so i doubt they really NEED me!
Ok thanks for all yoru comments, I think im just gonna go see him every 4 months then wait til we get married then i WILL live there ;o)
