Clue: Benefit From A Soothsayer, Say

Alphapuzzle cryptic clue for today.

I’ve noticed that generally the Alphapuzzle clues can be answered simply by entering the clue verbatim into Google. (No doubt Bing and others would also work.) There’s little point in asking for expert help under these circumstances as other beginners can simply do that.

I’m proposing therefore to stop asking these questions regularly and limit any questions to any that can’t be answered by an Internet search. All the same, I must thank everybody who has contributed in the past for their help. Mouseymick gets a special mention as s/he was providing regular solutions to the puzzles way before I started. In addition, emmie, mallyh, 1ozzy, geevo41, Toorak, neveracrossword, bobbinwales, margotester, captain2 and Fibonacci come to mind. (Apologies if I left out someone.)

Today’s answer is, of course, ‘profit’.

Sorry if you stop posting. This has been an increasing problem for this site as more and more solutions are posted on other sites (and are often wrong). I don’t see the point in googling for answers and then posting them here: if I can’t work something out for myself I don’t post.

I'm sorry that you are to stop posting the Alphapuzzle, satprof but I understand your reasons. I would be very surprised if any of we regulars would bother trying to look up the answer when the fun is trying to answer first by our own efforts. Thanks very much for all your posts.
