So, whats the best solution I can spray on my roof tiles to kill moss, its getting a little out of hand. Thanks, will look in later off out now for a while.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.If you simply spray the moss on your roof with a moss-killing agent, instead of having green (water-retaining) live moss of your roof you'll just have brown (water-retaining) dead moss up there. You need to remove the moss first and then spray it with moss killer, to try to inhibit the growth of further moss.

nicebloke. I have the same problem, although it doesn't cause enough concern to me to consider paying to get it sorted. I think that birds take some of it, and some falls down onto our back patio. I believe it's a sign of resonable air quality to have moss. I'd be interested to hear what you decide to do. Good luck
You cant always see the damage moss does. Its true like you say,some of it does die off and drop down into the gutter, hence having the gutters cleaned out. The problem is every year the moss growth will increase and finds its way between and even under the tiles. Moss retains moisture/ rain water, in turn drips down onto the felt that you see in your loft, in time rotting the felt. Thats why its important that rain water can freely flow down the roof tiles without restriction, into the gutter. All the above is one of the reasons some people suffer black mould on ceilings and walls.Damp and wet felt in the loft results in droplets of water on ceiling.
