Coffee Pod Machines

Does anyone use any of the above, every day? Doesn’t it work out expensive to buy the pods?? Did you buy one, use it initially and now it’s just sitting there looking all forlorn???
One of the children has bought OH one unexpectedly for his birthday, and quite apart from trying to figure out how it blooming works (it has a separate milk frothier thing too, just to add to the confusion)just looking at the price of pods, whilst not unaffordable, seems a bit ott. And having to rearrange to kitchen to fit it in somewhere…
It comes from a loving place in said child’s heart, which is very much appreciated, but himself would rather have had another technical Lego set…so he’s just been and bought himself a huge lego helicopter!! He can drink his coffee while he builds it :)

I have the Vertuo and as much as I love it (usually for making espresso martinis), I wouldn't get another one as the pods are proprietary and no one else is allowed to make them. Although not alarmingly expensive, it's a PIA to keep ordering them and their decaff range is pathetic.

The coffee is well hot enough for me, I have to leave it for a couple of minutes.

I have one, my late OH bought it as he was a sucker for gadgets, can't say I use it much though, prefer the Cafetiere I've had for almost 50 years. I often wonder how people manage with pods machines if they're doing coffee for a lot of people, surely the first has finished before the last is served!

They're very quick, Zebo. Never been an issue here, unless, I suppose you have more than 10 people.

Cafetiere for me too, cant beat em, quick and easy and you can make it strong or weak.
