Key Marked For Deletion

I have 1000s of jpg photos on my pc but they won't open unless I select "open with paint." I have more photo editing progs but none of them will open the photo.The message "Illegal op attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion." Never had this problem till recently..How do I "unmark for deletion"? Op system is Windows 10

If that failed to fix the problem, I'd probably reset the PC. (NB: A reset will remove any software that you've installed yourself, so you might end up having to reinstall quite a lot of stuff. However you won't lose any of your personal files, such as photos, documents and spreadsheets).
To reset your PC, do the following:
From the Start button, select Settings > Update & Security > Recovery
Under Reset this PC, select Get Started
Select the option marked Keep my files > Change settings > Preinstalled apps On
