The (old) technology above is far removed from the DCC secure network which connects UK smart meters to energy suppliers.
Most important is that the DCC network is separate to the public broadband domain. This is not to say a rogue employee at DCC could hack into your meter. Any device assigned a LAN/WAN address is potentially open to foul play.
Thanks Johnny. There is another scandal brewing up here in Wales. The Welsh Gubment is planning on spending further £squillions on "winter storms and floods" this year. Are they mad? For that much we could have a few heatwaves and a hosepipe ban instead. I know what I prefer! Plus " she who must be obeyed" could dry the washing outside without it blowing away.
