How To Loosen Curls On Perm?

I got a perm about 3 hours ago and the curls are too tight. How soon should I wash my hair to keep the curls but loosen them? I've been told to wait 24 hours and I've also been told to wash it immediately.

Usually 2 wait 5 days b4 washing. If tight wash and put a good conditioner on overnight (cover with curbi towel or cling film) keeps heat in to soften the hair shaft. May take a few goes but it will moist the hair and it will soon loosen. X
