Babies

A light hearted question. Am I alone in finding very young human babies very unappealing and very uncuddly, but find all furry animal babies appealing and cuddly. Mum's with new babies seem to ask if I want to hold their babies. No I don't! No way.

You are far from alone, MissT. I loved my two children dearly but I'm not clingy. I did my best for them for their sakes but wasn't distraught when they went their own way. I was happy they were both independent souls who would do well. We're close but don't need to be with each other. When grandchildre n arrived the other gran and great gran were obsessed and so...

I adore babies, I will hold anyone's baby anywhere, any time.
We are a very affectionate family - my oldest grandson who has just turned eighteen, and is an inch taller than me, hugs and kisses me hello and goodbye every time he sees me, and tells me he loves me, and that's wherever he is, and whoever he is with. That hast o be a rarity for a lad that age!
I'd love my girls to have more babies, obviously they won't now, but I have hopes for my granddaughter who has a five-year-old, and the five lads who will hopefully produce in my lifetime.

Couldn't have my own and for a long time couldn't hear to be in a room with one, now my friends are all at the doting grandparent stage, so there are whole areas of conversation I can't relate to. Have to admit even now I can't hold a baby, it hurts too much. Maybe it's for the best, I don't think I would have been a particularly good parent.
Andy, i have 9 grandchildren and all of the older ones (15 - 22 y.o.) hug me on greeting and departure. And, like yours, it doesn't matter who they're with or where we are. Also like yours, all bar one of them are taller than me, and, grand-daughter aside, they work out at a local gym.
As for newborn babies; i absolutely love 'em, but i could never eat a full one :-)

I love both human babies and animal babies, with animal babies maybe sneaking ahead a little bit! When young babies start smiling and chuckling, I think it's one of the loveliest things, but the sight of a fat little tummied pup running towards me reduces me to jelly. I never had kids, but I had two lovely nieces who, although now grown, are still the apple of my eye, but then again so is my beloved dog who brightens my day every day. I don't think I would have made a good Mum though!
Morning Ken. Nice to see a few blokes on my thread.
I wonder if my upbringing caused my lack of interest in babies. My Mum never was a mumsy mum. There were very few babies around me when I grew up and I was an only child who was very content with not having siblings.
But I still think baby animals are far more appealing and attractive than human babies!

Hi fitdarren. It was Mr T that convinced me after 11 years of marriage that a child might be a nice idea. I had a miscarriage early in marriage when we hadn't planned kids, and I didn't shed a tear. We never planned for another. I think I was a good Mum and still am. My son loves animals as much as Mr T and I do. We was brought up with plenty of dogs and cats around.
