when traveling to egypt what clothing should i take with me?

it deponds on the time you are traveling, but I think you should not take warm clothes I think you can take normal clouthes and you need to take a Burka ( just in case ) you might need it in some places

It does depend on the time of year - Egypt can get stifling hot in the summer and cool in winter evenings. It also depends where is Egypt you are travelling i.e. are you staying in a beach resort or travelling round?

I would take loose comfortable clothes, a longish skirt or trousers and something that can be used to cover the shoulders and head, especially if you are planning to visit some mosques. And perhaps a wrap or cardigan for the evenings. I'd err on the side of conservative clothing, what looks okay on a warm day in Oxford Street might stand out a bit in Cairo or Luxor!

Also if you are touring round a comfy pair of shoes or boots is good, there can be a lot of walking is you are going round a lot of the sites.

I went to Egypt in the October half term and it was very hot (to say the least) so pack lots of loose, lightly coloured clothing (linen and cotton is best), make sure you bring a hat, but take light, long sleeved tops for the evenings, when it can get very cool outside. Enjoy, it's an amazing place! Don't forget to take a couple of thick jumpers, not least for the plane!!

Blimey, falloutgirl, what airlines do you fly with? Thick jumpers for the plane? I'm usually gasping for cool air in a T-shirt, regardless of the time of year or time of day, and the overhead air vents are generally useless. It's often a pleasure to step off an aircraft into 28deg temperatures to cool down!!
If there's an airline somewhere with cool cabins PLEASE tell me who they are.............

I went this time last year and it was as hot as European distinations in the summer. Make sure you dont wear sexy or flirtatous clothes it will cause you nothing but hassles around the markets and attractions. Long linen trousers and shirts are best.
I got grabbed in the prymid and had a hand on my boobs cause i was wearing a vest top.

Have fun though it a lovely country
