Comedy & Whit category

[FISHFACE]

DaSweed said I should post this so here it is! I would like suggest a comedy category where you could post birthday's, jokes, comical links and of course some of the not so serious questions we often see in B&S and get back some of the wonderful witty responses we only get on Answerbank. (And I don't mean a new chatterbank) Any suggestions (I almost said sensible one's!) to improve this idea are welcome.:-)))

Despite you saying it wouldn't be ChatterBank reincarnated, that's exactly what it would be become, and while I loved CB I can see that it was a pretty vile place by the time it closed down- mid December.

The Comic Category would be the same, start off all sweetness and light then before you know it it would attract every loon this side of Australia and it'd be 'orrible.

Oh and did you mean a 'Wit' section? Or is it only to be used on a Whit Sunday?

I disagree with B00. We have a choice stick to the rules or have a category like this. I like your idea FISHFACE the way AB is going it is like the last days of chatterbank!! I remember the people causing the trouble at that time and most of them are here one way or another. I hope you get a lot of support F.F

ok i agree that alot of us- me included- do take the mickey alot, and use the site more to chat than to answer questions (though I do like to think that I DO answer questions where i can as well) however..........how do you imagine that a whole category dedicated to silliness will be any different than what Chatter Bank was????

Yes why not. you can put all the comedy questions in the comedy category and ban all the silly ones.

FISHFACE, as you know I support your suggestion. Bear with me while I quote myself (from an earlier thread):

Maybe not just 'comedy'? Personally I've enjoyed quite a few of the "I just had to show you this!"-posts, like for instance when somebody showed us a recently discovered photograph of Mozart's wife. Not comedy... but so fascinating. Perhaps a "Wanna show you"-category.

But I have to admit I'm inexperienced in the nature of this particular beast and I do see that BOO et al could be right in thinking it wouldn't work. Too bad, if that's the case.

In hindsight, maybe "Wanna show you" might prove to be too inspiring a name... "Half-wit category" is a good one!
