Aruba

Has anyone been to Aruba? Its one of the places we are considering visiting next June/July and I'm hoping for some advice such as how expensive is it to eat & drink out. What are the beaches like? And just generally would you recommend it?

Aruba is georgous, I went in 1998 and stayed all inclusive at the La Cabana hotel complex, very nice. Lots of American and Canadian tourists with only a handful of Brits. I don't remember the prices being too expensive certainly no more pricey than the UK. Take a walk around the harbour in the main town and check out the multi million pound yatchs. A few casionos. Beautiful main town. Don't hire a car for the whole stay just get one for one day as you can drive around the whole island in a few hours also the bus system is very good. Beaches are beautiful especially baby beach which is on one end of the island. Consider a day trip to venuzuala which is a quick ferry trip away, only eighteen miles I think.
