I am really enjoying this series. I have read all the books except the last one. Very good reading. Have to be read in order though

The books are so much better than the series. Still can't take to John Simm as Grace. Not as I imagine him.

I agree, he is not as I imagined him either. Getting used to him though. I like the writer, I have read some of his other books too
I love the books, but simply can't watch the tv versions. The tv Grace isn't 'my' Grace, and the storylines don't get to develop in the same, good way as they do in the books.
Who's the author?

Peter james

The Roy Grace books all have the word dead in the title
Thank you, Bobbie.
Some of the TV series bears no resemblance to the book. Tonight's episode it was shoes that was taken from the victim's in the book not lipstick. Why did that need to be changed?
I have read all the books, I’m a big fan. I enjoy the tv series by not comparing it to the books, treat it as a different series really
I began reading the Grace books when someone on here mentioned them and the plot of Dead Simple. It was intriguing so I got the book and the tension was brilliant. The guy was put in the coffin and his friends went off and then had a car crash. You didn't know how it would be resolved. I looked forward to the tv adaptation and they started with the car crash and then went back in time to the 'burial'. No tension at all, they just killed it. So I've not bothered with subsequent episodes.
