surely the forensic team would be able to tell from Charles' car that it was not the one that hit Alex? I know he pushed him onto the car but the impact would have been much greater from a moving car and they can even tell the angle he would have been hit at.

They would also be able to tell the make of car from the height of the injuries. Or if they analysed any glass or paint left behind.
