Team all Science computer students, only girl on the team, when asked questions kept saying, music not my strong point, politics, geography etc, makes you wonder why the go on, surely general knowledge is the best to have.

You shouldn't have to like a subject to know about it. This is exemplified in music where most teams have someone who can answer questions on pop but when it comes to classical music, they are clueless.
