I've been given an old iPhone 6 with the password but the Battery is no good I've managed to restore it but it seems I need the apple password to complete the job and make it an unlocked phone which needs to be done in an iPhone shop and the nearest one is 50 mile away But in the meantime I thought I would have ago at replacing the Battery , but I cant seem to find a replacement that matches the model number of the phone ( MG4F2B/A Capacity 64 CB SER FFMS45RE ) my son seems to think he bought it at Curry's years ago
Any way ide be thankful of any help and if you advise me to put it back in the drawer I haven't lost anything

Put it back in the drawer, it's nine years old.

Send it for recycling, don't stick it in a drawer.

As long as you find a battery for the iPhone 6 (and NOT the 6S or any other model) it should do the job. The 'standard' battery seems to be rated at 1810 mAh but longer-life versions, of around 2300mAh, are also offered for sale.

So simply searching eBay (or similar) for 'battery iphone 6' (and ignoring those for the 6s, which the search will also find) should be all that you need to do.

Prices seem to range from about £6 up to around £20. As there's no guarantee that paying more will get you a better product, my own instinct in your situation would be to look for a cheap battery from a seller with generally positive feedback. e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225192474213

Thank you both for your time much appreciated , anyway the wife will be please being both well passed 90 it was taking up to much of my day , but its hard after spending all those years straightening nails and saving odd bits of string to see a nice shiny thing just sitting there but that's where its going back in the drawer

Well Buenchico I manage to change the battery and the hardest part was those 5 screws holding the lid over the multi plugs I manage to replace 3 but one disappeared somewhere and I gave up with the other . I went down the shed and knock up an L cradle then elastic banded the phone to it which was a big help , I think if I ever do another which I doubt I would leave those multi plugs alone as pulling the adhesive from under the battery aloud the battery to come out without any bother

Yep working lovely and the battery seems to last for ever I must admit those small screws beat me I have fingers like bananas and the old hands shake a bit , worn out I suppose But anyway its up and running and like I said in the last post I would leave those screws alone another time which wont happen , But another tip for the beginners like me is work on something soft and white as things seem to ping off the tweezers and go walk about

I've never tried taking a phone apart but I do know, from delving inside several laptops, just how tricky it can be when there are some very small screws involved.

Well done on getting that phone working again!
