Felt so sorry for the guy who had an alcoholic girlfriend who kept beating him up, especially at the end when he ended up sobbing after having to explain on the phone that he can't read and write - presumably a factor in his continuing dependence on the girlfriend despite her treatment of him.

I get cross with the gambler ~ Mr P started raving on about our tax money going to someone who fritters it away instead of buying himself food, although it seems he MAY be turning his life around.
As for the domestic violence guy..I wept when he did. As soon as he said he couldn't write I crumpled. If he had been a woman being beaten up & drank dry it would be a different story, no doubt. I also got cross at the couple pawning their kids games...the guy was dripping in gold and kept using 'buy back' on his jewellery. As far as I am concerned unless the jewellery has major sentimental value he should flog the lot! however I was pleased to see that they both wish to work...it's a travesty that they know they would be better off not working at all.
My favourite one is Vernon ~ although he wasn't on last nights programme.
