I've Made A Rod For My Own Back.

I've bird feeders just outside the patio doors. A few times recently I saw mice on them.
They seem to have invaded the house. There are mouse droppings all over the stove and work surfaces.
I've baited traps with peanut butter but to no effect. I don't want to use poison or glue traps.
Any suggestions for another bait?
