Three parsings I can't get or don't like :-
Had unusually sound tips for purchase (8) ADHESION, Why does "sound tips" = ESION?
Brother's style indeed shown after Mass? (7) TONSURE. Since when did "ton" = MASS?
Round figure with right clothing is content (5) TENOR. Presumably "round" means reverse R(ONE)T, but how does "content" = TENOR? I would have thought TENOR means the feeling or tone of something said or written (Chambers says "general purport, drift), rather than its actual content.
