Not that sentence, this one I've just read in the DM
"Between 2011 and 2018 - when they both attended Dale Winton's funeral - neither Little Britain star were seen in public together."

The report is about an apparent falling out between Matt Lucas and David Walliams

No

To me it makes sense if 2018 was the date of Dale Winton funeral... they didn't meet in public between 2011 and 2018.
Maybe it should say neither WAS but am not sure either way
Neither was as it is singular
Imagine a funeral lasting 7 years.....
Okay it's time to be moving.....have a good one all.
Neither and together don't make sense, never mind was or were.
Yes very clumsy. Better to say ' the pair weren't seen together' but I guess they wanted to shoe in Little Britain so tried and made a pigs ear
...but we still all worked out what they meant... only had to read it once
It makes no sense. It does not explain what it is on about. And a seven year long funeral seems a bit excessive!.
I long ago came to the conclusion that to be a DM reporter you have to have failed O level English.
Anyone else seeing odd related search links in the middle of the question?

I would love to know how just one of them could be seen together.

Errr, what do you mean, Gromit?
Seems to make perfect sense to me unless you want to quibble about “was” and “were”
The punctuation makes it perfectly clear that the funeral was in 2018.
Why on Earth would you think otherwise

ich, it is this bit that puzzles me
neither Little Britain star were seen in public together.

It suggests that just one of them could be seen together.
It's similar to, "They both lived next to each other".
I think it was a pop-up advert. It has gone now.

It is old news anyway, the fall out was revealed in Lucas’ 2011 autobiography.
"neither Little Britain star were seen in public together."

Yes that doesn't make sense indeed! Although conversely the sense is clear :-)
Yikes
2018 They bofe attended Dale W's funeral. Up till then they had not been seen together
^. That's it in a nutshell.
